Young Dickson AKA YD

Is a Ghanaian singer, rapper, and songwriter from Accra, Ghana. Born in Accra, YD began singing and rapping at the tender age of 5, finding solace in music after the tragic death of his mother. This difficult period in his life sparked his passion for music, as he found comfort in singing to himself.
Dickson attended St. Anglican Primary School in Dunkwa-on-Offin before relocating to Bepose in the Western Region. At the age of 9, he joined Abosomfor, a popular music group in Bepose. As a young rapper and opening act, Young Dickson AKA YD quickly gained recognition for his freestyle and musical talent. By the age of 10, he composed his first song, "Akolakyitua tsis3 wo" (a little child like you), and has since written numerous unrecorded and recorded titles.
Throughout his music career, Dickson's stage name evolved from Asemfofor to Asem, and then to Thrill Thrash, before finally becoming Young Dickson AKA YD. His talent has grown alongside his name, transitioning from performing as an opening act in small towns to showcasing his original works at various concerts and venues.
Young Dickson AKA YD released "Lost Love" in February 2020, followed by the "Lost Love" video on May 12, 2020 In 2024, he released "Jollof" and "Ankonam" . His recent tracks include "Press Play" featuring Kwame Yogot  and "ThySelf" featuring Strongman. These songs highlight his ability to blend rap with melodic hooks, creating a unique sound that resonates with his audience.
Currently based in Atlanta, Young Dickson AKA YD continues to create electrifying music and connect with fans globally. He holds a bachelor's degree in education, which adds to his multifaceted persona. His upcoming debut album, "The Initiation," embodies his essence and versatility, and he eagerly anticipates its release.
